Florida's voter laws have changed since the last election.
All changes must be made BEFORE Election Day, Tuesday March 10, 2026.
Here's your guide to updating your registration and how to vote in 2026.

You MUST request a new
mail-in ballot every election
This is the most important change to Mail-in voting. Florida Statutes now require all voters to request a new ballot yearly. To ensure your ballot arrives on schedule, apply for a mail-in/absentee ballot as soon as possible! Remember, Election Day is Tuesday, March 10, 2026!

Important legislative changes to Vote-by-Mail were made by Senate Bill 90
Pursuant to Florida Statutes §101.62(a), the maximum amount of time your request can be honored is "[f]or all elections through the end of the calendar year of the next regularly." Therefore, you now have to request a vote by mail ballot for every election year.

What you need to apply/reapply
To request a Vote-by-Mail ballot you will need either the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, or the your Florida Driver's License / Florida ID# on file with the Supervisor of Elections office. If you have received a new driver's license, you will not be able to make a vote-by-mail request over the phone or online. You will have to complete a new voter registration with your updated information.
